Your Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign
This comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the fandom. From the one-by-one reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to players developing strong opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that emphasize their traits, one idea naturally: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was almost chosen for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when angered. Stay on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Similar to a devoted Bull, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Several past official descriptions mention their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its appendage to collect it everything, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Look at this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to those who wants to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Super Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its ability to predict an enemy’s future actions, which sounds quite similar to a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a intense sign famous for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. It is also known for its capability to create a thundercloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Fans were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Leo brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly critical is clearly mirrored across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a strategy.
The Scales – Super Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them worry more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through pure resentment and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of times I’ve called myself some version of a “playful little jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who often consistently believe they’re right. The thing is, similar to a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall daunting aura is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
