Netflix Casts Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed this week that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Mr. 2. This character possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a version of that character reimagined as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, unlike the initial comic and animated series.
This performer will work alongside multiple recently announced actors set to bring the group to reality, featuring leader Mr. 0, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Although Bon Clay is a important part of the group, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
