Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in beloved programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
