Actor Denies Anti-Vaccine Views Following Narrating Contentious Pandemic Film
Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a recent film that challenges the safety of vaccinations and lauds ex- government figure RFK Jr.
The Feature's Contentious Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for allegations that the illness was caused by a bad strain of the flu vaccine.
The publication's collaborator, the executive producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone media personality Alex Jones. The producer wrote online praising Neeson's role in the film.
A Firm Statement
The team of the actor have released a response firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-vax sentiments.
"We all understand that corruption may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be conflated with being against vaccines," the response reads. "Neeson has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His long work with Unicef highlights his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
It continued that the actor was not involved in crafting the documentary's messaging and that questions about its claims should be directed to the filmmakers.
Key Themes Featured in the Feature
According to the documentary, the narration spoken by Neeson makes several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to public institutions.
- It declares that "medical science has become highly politicised."
- Kennedy is interviewed saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't adequately tested."
- It further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Past Controversy and Recent Debates
It further cites a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the subject of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.
Recently, Kennedy directed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation reiterating no evidence has been found.
A Previous Record of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," stating that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the finish of our narrative. Rather, it is the start of a new chapter."
